Cookies

The short version

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracking script of any kind, and it loads nothing from a third-party domain — not even the typefaces, which are served from here rather than from a font host. The one exception is the contact and press pages: they load Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated senders, and Google may set its own cookies while you are on them.

That is why there is no consent banner: outside the contact and press pages there is nothing to permit, and on those pages the reCAPTCHA exists only to protect the forms. If you would rather not load it, do not open them; every other page is free of it.

How to check it yourself

You should not have to take our word for it. In Chrome or Edge, press F12, open the Application tab and look under Storage → Cookies. In Firefox, press F12 and open Storage. In Safari, enable the develop menu and open the Storage inspector. On every page but the contact and press pages, the list will be empty.

In the same panel, the Network tab shows every request the page makes. Every one of them will be to this domain — except, on the contact and press pages, the requests the reCAPTCHA makes to Google.

What the offline cache does keep

One thing is stored on your device, and it is fair to be told about it. This site can be installed like an application and read without a connection, and to make that work your browser keeps a copy of the pages you visited in a local cache.

That cache is not a cookie and does not behave like one: it holds pages, not identifiers, it is never sent anywhere, and it cannot be read by any other site. It lives on your device and you can erase it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser, which will not break anything.

The enquiry form

The form carries a hidden field that a human never sees and never fills in. Automated senders fill it in, and that is how they are discarded. It stores nothing on your device and identifies nobody.

The forms also use Google reCAPTCHA, which asks you to confirm you are a person before sending. It is the only third-party script on this site, it runs on the contact and press pages alone, and it is there to keep automated senders out of forms that reach Brianna directly.

What you type is sent to our hosting provider and forwarded to Brianna by email. What happens to it after that is set out in the Privacy Policy.

If this ever changes

If measurement of audience is ever added, it will be a cookieless kind that counts visits without identifying anyone — and this page will say so, on this date line, before it is switched on. If anything is ever added that does require consent, a real banner will appear, and it will refuse as easily as it accepts.
